Hello Hello Helloooooo! Well if you have been checking my blog out then you should already know my name is Denitra, but everyone calls me Dee! Truth be told I hate being called "Dee". There is always three dudes in the room who are known by it, and when someone says the name its just weird lol. I wish for something cuter but oh well I guess. Anyways, I'm 23 years young and a senior in college. I major in Business Marketing with a minor in Art, should've been the other way around but that's a future post. I live with my dad and stepmother, which is never a dull moment. I swear we need a tv show. I'm DIFFERENT and it does not take long to notice that. I used to be something that bothered me because it seemed people got some kind of kick pointing it out. Now I just think " don't be upset my interesting level is on Goku in full fledged saiyan mode!"
I'm born and raised in Charleston, West Virginia and ready to blow this weak popsicle stand. WV is like those old slim popsicles you used to end up drinking because they melted so fast, while the rest of the county is putting fruit and other pretty interesting things in there icy pop stands. If you didn't get my analogy, what I'm saying is...WV is soooo out dated and old. We get everything 10 years later it seems like. If you're looking for a place to retire one day, this would be it. It's not all bad, every place has its own things that make it shine. I like how in certain parts its quiet and peaceful. You can sit on your porch and just chill or my favorite sitting by the river with a pack of Mikes Hard Lemonade and a speaker and just vibing until the sun goes down.
I've had a hell of a personal growth journey these past couple years and it's all thanks to college (God college >_<, thats just another post to blow your socks off). I'm not fully finished but I've reached a point now where I can see that I'm better than I was. If you haven't had to go through a stage where you needed to find yourself, well aren't you just a bowl of lucky and perfect! I doubt it though, some just do not see as earlier as other that some things about them personally need to change. Hopefully some of my post can get you going down that path.
Anyways, I love to make things! My favorite thing to do is customize my clothes, the deeper I get into my blog I'll share my eccentric style with you all. Never would call myself the next Picasso but I do like to paint and draw. I love color! I'm all about the DIY (do it yourself), if I know I can do it myself then I definitely will. This happens to be one of the reasons I'll never be to hype for name brands. I won't toot my horn but I might lowkey be a fashionista ( guess i did it anyway lol) ! I love putting different styles together, and being completely opposite from anyone else. Once I graduate from my current university I hope to go somewhere and study fashion. I was accepted two years back to The Art Institute of Chicago but decided to finish my Marketing degree first. I think instead of design which I had originally planned to study I will continue with marketing. I would love to purchase clothes and accessories for a top notch department store one day. One of the reasons I chose the #ArtInstitute is the intern program they have while enrolled and once you graduate.
If you haven't noticed I'm NATURAL, so I smell like a tropical paradise consistently! I just started my third year and my hair has reached nape length. I recently just shaved the sides and back of my head uand I LOVE IT. Getting designs is just the dopest thing ever but the barbers be taxing boyyyy! It's all good though. I can honestly say I still do not have the natural game down on lock, I am NOT a naturalista. I can't stick with a regime but I haven't tried to hard, I plan to try harder in 2016! It's hard work but I do love how versatile my hair is now. I VOW NEVER TO USE THE CREAMY CRACK AGAIN, AMEN!
My blog started off from posts that I made on my instagram just finally feeling free and bold enough to share my thoughts on things. I've come a long way as person, but thats a future post. I have a lot of ideas that I want to do with my blog. I hope all enjoy it and stay tuned because their is definitely more to come!
